Author Interview Questions
What have you had published?
A Playboy’s Love Affair is
another contemporary romance published by The Wild Rose Press earlier this
year.
What genre(s) of book do you write?
I write sexy contemporary
romances.
What inspired you to write your first book?
A Playboy’s Love Affair was
inspired by a song titled “One Kiss.” This isn’t the very first book I’ve
written but it is my first published book.
How long did it take you to write “One Wicked Night”?
I wrote the original draft over
a weekend and saved it away. A few months later I went back to it and added new
scenes and deleted others. Overall, I’d say it took me about four to six months
total to finish it.
What is the working title of your next book(s)?
The next book in the Wicked
Series is titled “Wicked Game.”
When and why did you begin writing?
I’ve always loved writing and
back in 2006 I started to take it a bit more serious and wrote on and off. In
2012, I decided to take it to the next level and give it all I could. My mind
is constantly running with ideas for sexy and fun stories, and some characters
are just too loud they won’t leave me alone until I put them on paper. J
Do you self publish your books or go through an agency?
No, I haven’t self-published.
I’ve been lucky to have found publishers who’ve liked my voice and my stories.
What part of writing books do you find the hardest?
The beginning, the middle, and
the end. All parts of writing a book are hard, at least for me. I play with
different scenarios on how I want a story to begin, where I want it to go and
how I want it to end. For me it’s about what feels right and wanting to write a
story I love.
What do you do in your spare time?
I don’t really have a lot of
spare time, but when I do I read or watch a nice movie.
Who is your favourite author?
I have many but my favourite of
favourites is Jude Deveraux.
What’s your favourite genre to read?
I love historicals.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
For aspiring writers the only advice
I have is to never give up. Rejections will happen (more often than not), but
there’s always the one editor who will like your voice.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you so much for having me
on your blog. It’s been a lot of fun.
Hi Katie!
