I liked these short stories but there’s no doubt that some
of John’s later work is better than his earlier work. You can definitely tell
he’s improving as his talent grows, however, this doesn’t make these stories
bad as they are far from it.
I find that some of the story lines are too complicated for
the length of the story and the stories begin to get a bit
repetitive. Similarly to the other work I have read by John I like the
unexpected twists toward the end of each story and I would recommend this book
along with John’s others.
